Religious Education

Picture
St. Columba's School aims to nurture and develop the whole child.  We look to build on what has begun at home.

All classes have Religious Education lessons each day based on units of work developed from the Diocesan Guidelines 'Sharing Our Story".  We welcome and respect children of another faith, but they must participate in these lessons.  We aim to engender, within each person, a deep respect for themselves and for others as all life comes from God.  To this end, we try to develop within the children a love for Jesus, Mary, the Mother of God, and for the Church to which we belong through our Baptism.

Prayer is an integral part of the life of St. Columba's School community.  Through school and classroom prayer, we join as a community in prayer.  Teachers pray with the children daily and endeavour to lead their students in a prayerful attitude towards their work.
